English: World Book Week 2025

At Talbot Primary School, the children enjoy a love of reading so there is always a real buzz in the air during the week of World Book Day. It is a great opportunity to share our love of books with our peers and the rest of the school.

This year, World Book Day was on Thursday 6th March, and on the following day, the children were encouraged to dress up to represent a word. This gave everybody enormous choice of costume and the chance to share some great ambitious vocabulary!

Every class in class also had a drama workshop run by West End Dance based on a well-known children’s story. The focus for Year 6 was “Kensuke’s Kingdom”, written by Michael Morpurgo. After a quick warm-up, each class took part, both independently and in small groups, to create dramatic montages and freeze frames. It was incredible to see the focus and co-operation between the children to produce a summary of the whole story to music – all in just 30 minutes!
