Be inspired - a visit from a Paralympian
At the start of the new term, we were really lucky to have a visit from Paralympian wheelchair tennis star, Antony Coterill.
Antony began his journey to the top of his sport in 2004 and described the dedication, perseverance and resilience it took to achieve his success. Antony has won more than 40 singles and doubles titles, and achieved his career world ranking of No. 5 in September 2015, before making his Paralympic debut at Rio 2016.
As well as teaching the children some amazing tennis skills and allowing them the opportunity to try his specialised wheelchair, Antony also had a powerful message to share about being overcoming adversity. Through determination and resilience, he has made the most of the opportunities presented him and he was keen for the children to embrace their differences and to make the most of their different skills and talents. It was a fantastic visit and very inspiring.
