Children from year 4 are involved with a super project this year when they will meet up with Raynville Primary School children from Bramley to take part in four specially themed workshop days to help promote community cohesion.
The first group of fifteen Harmony Group children took part in a Forest Schools day at Roundhay Park at the beginning of term. Forest Schools is a creative way of learning by encouraging and inspiring individuals through positive outdoor experiences. We had a great day out , making shelters, identifying leaves, twigs and insects and making mobiles and crowns out of our Forest School finds.
Some of the comments from the children:
"I really enjoyed making the shelters" - Caitlin
"We made brilliant shelters with leaves and branches with Raynville. We even made a path!"
"I enjoyed meeting new friends." - Ayaan
"I liked working with the cards that helped us identify the leaves and twigs." - Melissa
"It was hard work getting the big branches to rest on the Silver Birch to make our shelter. It was great fun!"" - Evan
