On Thursday 23rd October, it was the festival of Diwali. This important celebration marks the return of Rama and Sita, after escaping the evil, ten headed demon Ravana. It is said that people lit small diva lamps across the city to help the young couple find their way home and this is why the festival is also known as the festival of lights.
Kartik, in Year 5, designed a detailed PowerPoint of the story and about how he and his family celebrate Diwali. Kartik’s mother then delivered the presentation to KS2, so everyone had a better understanding of the festival.
Later, Kartik’s mum did a Diwali quiz for Year 4, who are studying the festival. Please can I take this opportunity to thank Kartik and his family once again for supporting school by sharing their beliefs with us.
