Miss Gilbert (Talbot's Sports Coach) took 40 pupils (ten from each year group in KS2) to Allerton Grange High School for their second annual inter-primary sports day. This involved teams from six local primary schools: Highfield, Moor Town, Kerr Mackie, Moor Allerton Hall, Talbot and Wigton Moor. They competed in a full range of classic, sports day events.
Our pupils had immense fun (in the glorious weather) and competed fairly. They won dozens of individual events, narrowly coming second to Wigton Moor Primary School overall. This was the same result as last year, and some pupils have said they are determined to win the whole competition in 2019! When they returned to school, they enjoyed showing their chunky medals in assembly. “It was really fun to take part in different events, and I had a really good day. My best event was skipping where I came second!” – Jasmin (Year 5)
Our deepest thanks to Michaela Childs, the PE department at AGHS and their Sports Leaders, who planned and ran the event – it was a logistical challenge.
