The DfE have recently reinforced the need for all schools to promote “the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
The term ‘British values’ might be slightly misleading as these values are integral to so many countries throughout the world and very much reflect the diversity of our school.
The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated by the Prime Minister this year and published in November 2014. Click here to see how these values are reinforced regularly at Talbot Primary School.
MP visit - January 2016
Local MP, Fabian Hamilton, visited Talbot Primary School to meet our Key Stage 2 pupils. He led an assembly about his work, spoke with the School Council and answered questions from both Year 6 classes. It was a very informative day and the pupils found it very interesting.
