Mrs Helen Sweet (Talbot’s PTA Chairperson) visited us this week to explain the role of the PTA to the pupils. In two lively and interactive assemblies, Mrs Sweet explained the various roles of parents, teachers, pupils and PTA association itself. The children also learnt how the PTA put on events to bring the school community together and raise valuable school funds at the same time. This gave them a deeper understanding of how the PTA supports school life.
Mrs Sweet also explained how the PTA have been working with the different stakeholders to determine where their money should be spent. As a result, they will be committing significant sums of money towards improving the playgrounds, renovating the school libraries and they will be making £50 donations to individual classes (which the children will allocate). The pupils were really excited about these initiatives and we all look forward to the results.
The work of the PTA is extremely important and adds great value to school. If you are able to join them or simply help out on odd occasions, please speak to your PTA class rep. They will be delighted to receive your support.
